You do not need to be a teacher or an expert to change a life. Our volunteers are engineers and entrepreneurs, retirees and recent graduates, artists and accountants — people who simply care and are willing to show up. We match your skills, schedule, and interests to a role where you'll do real good, and we train and support you every step of the way.
Our mentors work hand in hand with our African instructors and program teams, never in place of them — adding capacity, real-world perspective, and one more caring adult in a young person's corner. One-on-One Mentorship

As a one-on-one mentor, you are paired with a student for regular check-ins over weeks or months — listening, encouraging, sharing what you've learned, and helping them navigate goals, setbacks, and big decisions. The relationship is simple but profound: consistent, caring attention from someone who believes in them.
You don't need a special degree to mentor — just reliability and genuine interest. We provide the training, structure, and support to make the relationship a success, and we handle the matching so your background lines up with your mentee's ambitions. For many students, a mentor becomes the turning point in their entire story.

If you have a marketable skill — coding, design, finance, writing, a trade, public speaking — you can lead a workshop or a short course that hands it directly to eager learners. Working alongside our instructors, you'll turn your everyday expertise into a lesson that opens doors for students who rarely get access to a working professional.
Workshops can be one-off sessions or a multi-week series, delivered in person or online to fit your life. The gap between a trained candidate and a confident hire is often just practice and belief. As a career coach, you help program graduates polish their résumés, rehearse interviews, build a professional presence, and understand the unwritten rules of the workplace — the exact edge that turns a promising applicant into an offer.
This role is ideal if you have professional or hiring experience and a few hours to give. A single mock interview or résumé review can transform how a young person shows up — and the encouragement you offer often matters as much as the advice. You'll see, in real time, the difference your guidance makes.
